| Bulgarian Coin Certificates |
Since 1992 The Bulgarian National Bank started issuing Certificates of Authenticity for its coins. All coins produced after 1992 carry one of these certificates and they guarantee their authenticity. The example below illustrates the certificate of authenticity of a recent Bulgarian silver coin - 1997 XVI World Football Cup in France. You can see a description of each page of the certificate below:

Each Bulgarian coin Certificate of Authenticity is consited of 6 parts that fold to form a tiny booklet. The front page always shows the logo of the Bulgarian National Bank.
The page on the back shows the guaranteed mintage from the Bulgarian Natioanal Bank. Also each coin has a specific series number starting with two letters in Cyrilic and a corresponding number that is no greater than the anounced mintage of the coin.
The second page of this tiny booklet shows the description of the coin in both Bulgarian and English.
The third page of the booklet shows the technical paramaters of each coin written in Bulgarian. You can see the mintage, the denomination value, the metal content, and other specifications there.

The fourth page of the booklet shows the technical paramaters of each coin written in English. You can see the mintage, the denomination value, the metal content, and other specifications there.

The fifth page of the booklet shows the signatures of the current Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank and the Chief Treasurer/Director of the Cash Operations division within the bank responible for the issue of the coin. Their signature is to verify the authenticity of the coin.
