The mintage of the coin was a surprise to coin collectors in Bulgaria with its mintage of 4,000 pieces instead of the previously announced 6,000 pieces. In our opinion, this fact alone will justify a serious interest in it.
The design of the coin could have been better indeed. However, judging by the history of modern Bulgarian coins, Bulgarian silver coins with mintage of less than 4,000 have ALL quickly sold out and are currently harder to find. Since the year 2000 such sold out coins are:
- The 2009 "130 Years Bulgarian National Bank", 10 Leva .999 Silver Coin
On the obverse of the coin is the logo of the Bulgarian National Bank, with the year of establishment 1879 on the ribbon.
Reverse:
The reverse shows an artistic image of the Belogradchik rocks. The inscription above says: "Belogradchik Rocks" and the one below says: "Natural Phenomenon".
