In the left half of the obverse is the logo of the Bulgarian National Bank with its year of establishment 1879 on the ribbon. The nominal value of the coin 10 Leva and the year of issue 2011. To the right is a famous icon of St. George the Zograf, currently kept at the Zograf monastery in Mount Athos (the "Holy Mountain") in Greece.
The reverse of the coin shows a 19th century drawing of the building of the monastery "St. George Zograf" with the inscription "Monastery St. Geogrge Zograf".
The designers of the coins are Ivan Todorov and Todor Todorov.
This is the first coin issued by BNB for year 2011. The coin is from the series: Bulgarian churches and monasteries. According to the coin program of the bank for 2011 the following coins are expected to be issued:
