BNB released the silver coin Gena Dimitrova 02/05/2011
The new coin is the third of the series ‘Great Bulgarian Voices’ after the coins dedicated to Boris Hristov and Nikolay Gyaurov.
The obverse of the coin features the logo of the Bulgarian National Bank, the year ‘1879’ on the strip, and the nominal value BGN 10 (‘10 ËÅÂÀ’) ‘ÁÚËÃÀÐÑÊÀ ÍÀÐÎÄÍÀ ÁÀÍÊÀ’ (BULGARIAN NATIONAL BANK) and the year of issue ‘2011’ are inscribed in circumference along the outer ring.
In the inner circle on the reverse of the coin is the image of the famous Bulgarian opera singer Gena Dimitrova as Princess Turandot from the eponymous opera. Written in circumference on the outer ring are ‘ÈÌÅÍÈÒÈ ÁÚËÃÀÐÑÊÈ ÃËÀÑÎÂÅ’ (GREAT BULGARIAN VOICES) and ‘ÃÅÍÀ ÄÈÌÈÒÐÎÂÀ’ (GENA DIMITROVA).
The mintage of the coin is 4 000 pieces and the artistic design is by Plamen Dzhermanov and Krasimir Angelov
