Anniversaries calendar: themes that may appear on future coins
The round anniversaries from 2027 to 2031 – the Liberation, the Tarnovo Constitution, the BNB, the lev – and how to think about future issues

Many commemorative coins mark round anniversaries – of the birth of a person, of an event, of the founding of an institution. That is why the calendar of anniversaries is a good guide to which themes may appear. Important: this is not the BNB’s programme. The official programme is announced by the bank – follow Upcoming coins.

The 150th anniversary of the Liberation is one of the most important anniversaries in these years.

How to use the calendar
- Follow the BNB’s programme. The bank announces the themes in advance. See Upcoming coins and the news.
- Prepare a budget. Coins for the most important anniversaries often sell out quickly.
- Think about a theme. If you collect Famous Bulgarians or Coins dedicated to the BNB, anniversaries are an opportunity to add to your collection.
- Do not buy on rumours. Buy only announced coins from official channels. See How to buy commemorative coins from the BNB.
The coins are now in euro
